Cabin Origin Story
From burnout to bold stitches—this is how 49 & Pine was born.
I’ve been in the embroidery game for nearly 30 years; mostly behind the scenes, running a commercial embroidery business in the Pacific Northwest. For a long time, I stitched for other people: their brands, their visions, their timelines. And while I was proud of the work, I missed mine.
The name 49 & Pine comes from the place I’ve called home:
🌲 49 for the 49th parallel
🌲 Pine for the trees that surrounded me in the PNW
After buying the business I worked for in 2018, I kept hustling through everything including COVID. I pivoted hard, selling on Facebook Lives, creating new designs, and pushing through the mess. But by the time things “returned to normal,” I realized I didn’t want to go back to just B2B. I needed my creative voice back.
So in 2022, I created 49 & Pine Collections—my side hustle turned soul project. At first, I was selling embroidered and graphic sweatshirts using designs from Etsy and wholesalers, and it worked. TikTok Lives in 2023 connected me with amazing people across the country who felt what I was offering: cozy, expressive comfort.
But something was still missing—my own voice.
I had sketches on napkins, notes on my iPad, sass in my heart, and way too many Post-its full of unhinged ideas. I decided to stop waiting and start building the brand I wanted to wear. One with chaos, comfort, and a little therapeutic swearing.
Now, in 2025, I’m still doing some B2B work—but I’m going all in on 49 & Pine.
It’s my creative comeback.
It’s embroidered feelings.
It’s Gen X energy with a soft side and a loud mouth.
Whether you're burned out, cracked up, healing out loud, or just here for the cozy fits with emotional damage stitched in—I made this brand for us.
From forests to freeways—wear what feels like you.
Welcome to the cabin.
